LASOAR Flag League is a safe, non-contact alternative to tackle football. Children will learn sport fundamentals and have the opportunity to play many different positions!
Our volunteer coaches will be partnered with a UL student athlete with football experience who will assist the team with practice drills and act as a positive role model for our young players.

Time of Play
LASOAR Neighborhood Sports sessions are always held on Sunday afternoons between the hours of 1:00 and 6:00 pm.
Exact time of play is dependent upon the number of participants registered in each age group and may vary between neighborhood locations. League playing times will be sent out via e-mail to all registered participants along with your team roster at least 2 weeks before Session 1.
- EQUIPMENT - LASOAR, with the help of our sponsors, will provide all equipment needed for play. This will include: Footballs, flags, team t-shirt and/or mesh pinnies. Our flag football league is a non-contact activity, however, you may choose to purchase additional safety equipment such as a mouth guard, knee or elbow pads, and/or helmet. These items are not required but may help protect your young player in the case of accidental collision.
- COACHES - LASOAR invites parents of players to volunteer coach (no football experience necessary, some experience working with youth may be helpful). We also hire and seek volunteers from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to coach/assist our parent volunteers. Interested in helping out? Email email@example.com.
- SNACKS - LASOAR utilizes Signupgenius.com to organize snack sign ups. A snack sign up link will be sent out via e-mail at least 2 weeks prior to Session 1. Sign up is voluntary and much appreciated! Please respect your LASOAR Neighborhood Sports host location as a nut-free environment as some children may have a nut allergy.
